Lignin is one of the components that make up plant cell walls and has the function of connecting cells. Lignin is present in wood tissue, and It forms an interwoven network to harden the cell wall and is the main component of the secondary wall.

The phenolic hydroxyl group in lignin has a characteristic absorption peak at 280nm after acetylation, and the absorbance at 280nm is positively correlated with the lignin content.
