Myelin staining has certain significance in pathological diagnosis, and the pathological changes of myelin are divided into early, middle and late stages. In the early stage, the staining is darker; in the middle stage of the lesion, myelin degeneration forms lipid droplets, which can be displayed by lipid staining, and in the later stage, it is completely decomposed and cleared by phagocytes, so there is no positive result of myelin sheath. Many diseases can cause myelin sheath changes. Luxol Fast Blue myelin sheath staining can show the integrity, degeneration, necrosis and repair of myelin sheath under pathological conditions, which is meaningful for pathological diagnosis and research of nerve tissues, such as nerve fiber damage. When damaged, the myelin sheath may swell, bend into a spherical shape, break or desheath completely disappear. This kit is mainly composed of fast blue staining solution and eosin counterstaining solution. After staining, the myelin sheath part is stained blue-purple, and the background is colored red.
