Basement Membrane Hexamine silver staining Kit
Basement membrane hexaamine silver (GMS) staining is a classic method to visualize the basement membrane. After the tissue is oxidized, the mucopolysaccharide in the basement membrane exposes the aldehyde group, and the aldehyde group reduces the hexaamine silver to black metallic silver. Gold chloride converts metallic silver to the more stable metallic gold, while making the background clearer. Hexamine silver staining can clearly show the basement membrane, which is most widely used in nephropathy. It is often used to observe the morphological changes of the glomerular capillary basement membrane such as fracture, hyperplasia, and folding during inflammatory injury. After staining with this kit, the glomerular basement membrane and capillary bulb basement membrane are black, and the background is green.
