Wright-Giemsa stain solution
Wright-Giemsa stain is a composite stain that combines the advantages of both Wright and Giemsa stains. It is mainly used for staining blood and bone marrow smears. Due to their different chemical properties, various cells and various components of cells have different affinities for acidic dyes and basic dyes in Wright-Giemsa stain. Therefore, after the specimen smear is stained with Wright-Giemsa stain, the corresponding types of cells show different colors, thereby achieving the purpose of distinguishing their morphological characteristics. Wright's stain has a strong staining power for cytoplasm, which can better show the basophilicity of cytoplasm, with clear coloring and pure color, but the coloring of nucleus is darker, and the nuclear structure is poorly displayed. Giemsa staining has a moderate degree of coloring for cell nuclei, and the nuclear structure and color are clear and bright, and the recognition of nuclear structure is better, but the coloring of cytoplasm is poor, so Wright-Giemsa mixed staining is used, which has the characteristics of good staining effect, clear contrast and simple operation.
