Trehalase Activity Assay kit
THL (EC 3.2.1.28) is widely present in animals, plants, microorganisms and cultured cells. The main function of trehalase is that the organism decomposes trehalose to produce glucose, which is directly used for energy supply.
The 3.5-dinitrosalicylic acid method is used to determine the content of reducing sugars produced by THL catalyzed by trehalose. The reducing sugar and 3.5-dinitrosalicylic acid are co-heated to produce a brown-red amino compound. Within a certain range, the amount of reducing sugar is directly proportional to the color depth of the reaction solution, thereby judging the level of THL activity.
