T4 UvsY Recombinase
T4 UvsY Recombinase is a recombinational regulatory protein derived from T4 bacteriophage, with a molecular weight of 17 kDa. During homologous recombination, UvsY enhances the ATPase activity of UvsX depend on DNA, thereby reducing the concentration required for Uvsx to exert its activity. This allows UvsX to competitively bind to single-stranded binding proteins and facilitate strand displacement reactions. In combination with other related proteins, UvsY can facilitate isothermal amplification reactions.
