T4 UvsX Recombinase
T4 UvsX Recombinase, derived from T4 bacteriophage, is a homolog of the RecA/Rad51 recombinase family with a molecular weight of 45 kDa. The RecA/Rad51 recombinase family plays a crucial role in the repair of double-stranded DNA breaks and the restart of replication forks. T4 UvsX Recombinase can bind to single-stranded DNA (primer)to form a complex, which then searches for homologous sequences within double-stranded DNA and catalyzes strand displacement reactions. In combination with other related proteins, UvsY can facilitate isothermal amplification reactions.
