Starch Branching Enzyme Activity Assay kit
SBE (EC 2.4.1.18) mainly exists in plants and is a key enzyme involved in amylopectin synthesis. The determination of SBE activity is of great significance in starch biosynthesis, selection of high-quality crop varieties and quality genetic improvement.
Starch and iodine have characteristic light absorption at 660nm after the combination of starch and iodine. SBE can cut off the side branches of amylopectin, thereby reducing the absorption value of starch-iodine complex at 660nm. The percentage decrease in absorbance within a certain period of time can reflect the activity of SBE.
