RPMI-1640 [No Glucose] w/ Phenol Red
RPMI 1640 is a widely used cell culture medium developed at the Roswell Park Memorial Institute in 1966. Originally created for culturing human leukemic cells, its versatile formulation has made it suitable for a broad range of mammalian and primary cell cultures.
The standard RPMI 1640 formulation includes 2 g/L of D-glucose. To prepare a glucose-free version, the ingredient is simply omitted. Glucose free RPMI is useful for research applications requiring glucose-free conditions, such as studying cancer cell metabolism or specific signaling pathways under glucose-restricted conditions.
*All cell culture media & supplements are available in standard pack size of 500mL (liquid) and 10 x 1L (powder sachets). Bulk packing in powder form is also available on request.
