Recombinant Protein A
Protein A is a cell wall protein isolated from Staphylococcus aureus, consisting of a single peptide chain. Recombinant protein A is expressed by Escherichia coli contains five high-affinity regions that bind to Fc of IgG, reducing non-specific adsorption. Protein A binds to mammalian IgG, but not to dog IgG, and does not bind to human IgM, IgD, and IgA. Protein A has an optimal binding to IgG at pH 8.2, and at the same time under neutral or physiological conditions (pH 7.0 -7.6) also combine well.
