This kit determines the free sulfhydryl content of proteins. Under certain conditions, sulfhydryl group will undergo nucleophilic reaction, i.e. sulfhydrylgroup reacts with 5,5'-dithio-bis-nitrobenzoic acid (DTNB) to produce a yellowcolor compoundwith a maximum absorption peak at 412 nm, from which the free sulfhydryl content of proteincanbe calculated.
