Protein Content Assay kit (biuret method)

The soluble protein content of a sample is often used in enzyme activity calculations. In addition, the soluble protein content is also used for quality analysis of food and other foods. In a strong alkaline solution, the biuret and CuSO4 form a purple complex; the color of the purple complex is proportional to the protein concentration.

The molecular weight and amino acid composition have nothing to do, so it can be used to determine the protein content. This method is suitable for samples with high protein concentrations, especially animal materials.
