Plant Lipoxygenase Activity Assay kit

LOX widely exists in plant tissues and catalyzes the oxidation reaction of unsaturated fatty acids, leading to membrane lipid peroxidation. It plays an important role in the growth and development, maturation and senescence of plants and the process of adversity stress.

LOX catalyzes the oxidation of linoleic acid, and the oxidation product has a characteristic absorption peak at 234nm; the increase rate of absorbance at 234nm is measured to calculate the LOX activity.
