Phosphoenolpyruvate Carboxykinase Activity Assay kit
PEPCK (EC 4.1.1.32) is widely found in animals, flowering plants, algae, some fungi and bacteria. This enzyme catalyzes the conversion of oxaloacetate to phosphorus. Acid enolpyruvate is the first rate-limiting enzyme that regulates the gluconeogenesis pathway. PEPCK catalyzes the production of phosphoenolpyruvate and CO2 from oxaloacetate, and pyruvate kinase and lactate dehydrogenase further catalyze the oxidation of NADH in turn.
As NAD+, the decrease rate of NADH can be measured at 340nm to reflect the activity of PEPCK.
