Pepsase Activity Assay kit

Pepsin is secreted by the main cells of the gastric mucosa and breaks down the protein in food into small peptides. Generally used for the identification of hypoacidity, chronic gastritis, chronic gastric dilatation, chronic duodenitis and other symptoms can also cause the decrease of pepsin secretion.

Pepsin can catalyze the hydrolysis of hemoglobin, and the hydrolysate will appear blue after reacting with Folin reagent; within a certain range, the depth of its color is proportional to the pepsin activity.
