Oxidized Thioredoxin Reductase Activity Assay kit
TrxR is a NADPH-dependent dimeric selenoase containing FAD domains, a member of the pyridine nucleotide-disulfide oxidoreductase family, and thioredoxin and NADPH together to form thioredoxin system. TrxR has similar activity to GR. It catalyzes the reduction of GSSG to GSH and is one of the key enzymes in the glutathione redox cycle.
TrxR catalyzes NADPH to reduce DTNB to generate TNB and NADP+. TNB has a characteristic absorption peak at 412 nm. The TrxR activity can be calculated by measuring the increase rate of TNB at 412 nm.
