NAD Malic Enzyme Activity Assay kit

ME is widely present in microorganisms, cultured cells, animal and plant cytoplasm, especially in plant tissues. ME catalyzed the oxidative removal of malic acid. The reversible reaction of carboxyl, the production of pyruvate and CO2, and the reduction reaction accompanying NAD(P)+, are the key enzymes in the metabolism of malate. It is closely related to antioxidants. In recent years, there have been many determinations of plant ME activity, and it has become a hotspot in antioxidant research. According to coenzyme specificity and substrate specificity ME can be divided into NAD-ME (EC1.1.1.38) and NADP-ME (EC1.1.1.40).

NAD-ME catalyzes the reduction of NAD+ to NADH, and the increase rate of NADH was measured at 340nm.
