Myelin stain kit (saraochrome cyaninemethod)
Myelin Sheath is a layer of membrane wrapped around the axon of nerve cells, that is, the myelin sheath is composed of myelin cells and cell membranes. It is a multi-layer lipid bilayer structure formed by the plasma membrane of the neurolemma cells spirally winding along the axis of the axon. There are Ranvier nodes on the myelin sheath, which can jump and transmit nerve impulses. Weil myelin staining can show whether the myelin sheath is complete, degenerated, necrotic and repaired under pathological conditions, which is meaningful for the pathological diagnosis and research of nerve tissue. For example, when nerve fibers are damaged, the myelin sheath may swell, bend into a spherical shape, break or completely disappear due to desheathing.
The saraochrome cyanine myelin stain, also known as modified page myelin stain, it shows whether the myelin is intact, degenerated, necrotic and repaired under pathological conditions. The myelin sheath is blue and demyelinated fibers are not colored.
