Mycoplasma Detection qPCR Kit (Probe-Based, Carryover Contamination Proof)
In cell culture, mycoplasma contamination is a common issue. This kit utilizes mycoplasma-specific primers and mycoplasma-specific fluorescent probes (FAM reporter dye) with qPCR technology to detect DNA from approximately 200 species of Mycoplasma, Spiroplasma, and Acholeplasma, including but not limited to:
(1) Acholeplasma laidlawii, (2) M. arginini, (3) M. pneumoniae, (4) M. hyorhinis, (5) M. orale, (6) M. fermentans, (7) M. gallisepticum, (8) M. synoviae, (9) Spiroplasma citri, (10) M. arthritidis, (11) M. genitalium, (12) M. hominis, (13) M. penetrans, (14) M. salivarium, (15) Ureaplasma urealyticum, (16) M. bovis, (17) M. hyopneumoniae, (18) M. pirum.
The kit includes an Internal Control (IC) with corresponding primers and a VIC-labeled probe to monitor DNA extraction efficiency and qPCR amplification. The IC is added during PCR amplification to identify amplification inhibitors in samples, thereby preventing false-negative results.
A heat-labile dUTP/UDG contamination control system is incorporated, which activates at room temperature to ensure result accuracy.
