However, the above methods are not specifically for displaying neutral mucus substances.

The Carmine Mucin stain kit is mainly used to display neutral mucus substances, and can also be used to display acidic mucus substances and Cryptococcus neoformans. It is particularly suitable for displaying gastric and epithelial mucus, and is clinically used to identify epithelial cancers that secrete mucus. It is mainly composed of mucin Carmine and hematoxylin stain solution. The staining results are: mucus substances are red and cell nuclei are blue.
