Mitochondrial Complex III Activity Assay kit
Mitochondrial Complex III (EC 1.10.2.2), also known as CoQ-cytochrome C reductase, is widely present in the mitochondria of animals, plants, microorganisms and cultured cells, and is the main and branch of the mitochondrial respiratory electron transport chain. The common component is responsible for transferring the hydrogen of reduced CoQ to cytochrome C to produce reduced cytochrome C.
Different from oxidized cytochrome C, reduced cytochrome C has characteristic light absorption at 550nm, so the increasing rate of light absorption at 550nm can reflect the enzyme activity of mitochondrial complex III.
