MEM (Minimum Essential Medium) is a basic and widely used medium containing 12 essential amino acids, glutamine, and 8 vitamins. It include non-essential amino acids or change the salt formulation (Earle's or Hank's) to meet the specific needs of different cell types. The NEAA (Non-Essential Amino Acids )is a supplement, it includes seven specific amino acids that most mammalian cells can synthesize on their own.
MEM with NEAA is a cell culture medium that combines Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) with a supplement of Non-Essential Amino Acids (NEAA). This formulation is widely used in animal cell culture to support the growth and proliferation of a wide variety of cells, especially adherent cells.
