L-Galactose-1,4-Lactone dehydrogenase Activity Assay kit
The L-galactose pathway is the main pathway for the synthesis of AsA. Gal LDH is located in the inner mitochondrial membrane and is responsible for catalyzing the last step of AsA biosynthesis in plants. It is also one of the key enzymes in this pathway. It plays a vital role in the accumulation of AsA content in plants.
Gal LDH catalyzes the reduction of cytochrome c (Cyt c) by L-galactose lactone. The reduced Cyt c has an absorption peak at 550 nm. The increase rate of reduced Cyt c was measured to calculate Gal LDH activity.
