Isocitrate Dehydrogenase Mitochondrial Activity Assay kit
ICDHm (EC 1.1.1.41) is widely present in the mitochondria of animals, plants, microorganisms and cultured cells. It catalyzes isocitrate to produce alpha-ketoglutarate in the tricarboxylic acid cycle, and at the same time reduces NAD+ to NADH. It is one of the rate-limiting enzymes of the tricarboxylic acid cycle, and the reaction catalyzed by it is one of the main sources of cellular NADH.
ICDHm catalyzes the reduction of NAD+ to generate NADH, resulting in an increase in light absorption at 340nm.
