Inosine Content Assay kit
Inosine (EC 200-390-4, also known as hypoxanthine nucleoside) is an inert purine nucleoside formed by the decomposition (deamination) of adenosine in and out of cells. Inosine is also produced by the action of 5 ' -nucleotidase on inosinic acid. Because inosine has immunomodulatory effects in pathological environments such as cancer, infection, inflammation, cardiovascular and neurological diseases, inosine can be used as a highly versatile bioactive compound and a second signal transduction messenger in cells with multiple functions under different pathological conditions. Inosine is hydrolyzed by purine nucleoside phosphorylase (PNP) to produce hypoxanthine and ribose phosphate. Hypoxanthine produces hydrogen peroxide under the action of xanthine oxidase (XOD). Hydrogen peroxide produces purplish red substance under the action of peroxidase (POD), 4-aminotepyrine and color source. It has the maximum absorption at the wavelength of 550 nm. The content of inosine can be obtained by detecting the amount of purplish red substance produced per unit time.
