Glycerol 3-Phosphatase Activity Assay kit

Glycerol 3-phosphatase (Glycerol 3-phosphatase GPP, EC3.1.3.21) is an enzyme that catalyzes the final step of glycerol fermentation. It removes the phosphate group of 3-phosphoglycerol to form glycerol, so the activity of GPP directly affects the yield of glycerol. 3-phosphoglycerol esterase catalyzes 3-phosphoglycerol to produce glycerol and phosphate. Molybdenum blue and phosphate produce substances with characteristic absorption peaks at 660 nm. The activity of 3-phosphoglycerol esterase is calculated by measuring the increase of inorganic phosphorus by ammonium molybdate method.
