Glutathione Peroxidase Activity Assay kit

Glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px/GPX) is an important peroxidase decomposing enzyme widely present in the body. GPX can catalyze reduced glutathione (GSH) to oxidized glutathione (GSSG), reducing toxic hydrogen peroxide to non-toxic hydroxyl compounds.

GPX catalyzes the oxidation of GSH by H2O2 to produce GSSG. GSH can form a compound with a characteristic absorption peak at 412nm with DTNB, which absorbs at 412nm. The decrease in luminosity can reflect the activity of GPX.
