Fibronectin-Binding Protein
The synthetic peptide D3 mimics the structure of a 38-amino acid unit from a staphylococcal fibronectin-binding protein. This unit is part of the protein domain to which the fibronectin-binding activity has been localized. Peptide D3 also interacts with fibronectin as indicated by its ability to inhibit binding of fibronectin to bacterial cells.
