Elastic Fiber stain kit (aldehyde-fuchsin method)

Elastic fibers are mainly distributed in the arterial walls, alveolar walls, and skin of the human body. They are yellow in color when fresh and have strong refractive index. Commonly used elastic fiber staining methods include the Gomori aldehyde fuchsin method, the resorcinol alkaline fuchsin method, the lichen red method, the Victoria blue method, and the iron iodine hematoxylin method.

The principle of aldehyde-fuchsin elastic fiber stain (also known as modified Gomori aldehyde fuchsin method) is that mature aldehyde fuchsin has a strong affinity for special proteins and mucopolysaccharides containing sulfate groups, and combines well with elastic fibers. The dye solution also has a coloring effect on mast cell granules, lipofuscin, eosinophils, etc., and care should be taken to identify them after staining.
