Collagen Fiber & Elastic Fiber stain kit (Van Geison & Verhöeff method)

Collagen fiber is the most widely distributed fiber in connective tissue. Elastic fiber is mainly distributed in the arterial wall, alveolar wall and skin of the human body. It is yellow when fresh and has strong refractive index. In routine tissue staining, it is often necessary to display two types of fibers at the same time to study the coexistence relationship between fibers and their dependence on other structures. Based on this, the EVG composite staining kit was produced on the basis of the fiber single staining kit, which is a combination of conventional elastic fiber staining and collagen staining.

This kit uses a combined staining mechanism of Van Geison & Verhöeff stain solution, which can stain elastic fibers and collagen fibers simultaneously on a slice, and is not easy to fade. After staining, elastic fibers are purple-black, collagen fibers are red, and muscles are yellow. It is suitable for observing whether there are abnormal lesions in elastic fibers and collagen fibers in tissues, thereby assisting in diagnosis.
