Catalase Activity Assay kit

Catalase (EC 1.11.1.6) is widely present in animals, plants, microorganisms and cultured cells. It is the most important H2O2 scavenging enzyme and plays an important role in the reactive oxygen scavenging system.

H2O2 has a characteristic absorption peak at 240nm. CAT can decompose H2O2, so that the absorbance of the reaction solution at 240nm decreases with the reaction time. CAT activity can be calculated according to the rate of change in absorbance.
