beta-1,3-Glucanase Activity Assay kit

beta-1,3-GA (EC 3.2.1.73) mainly exists in plants and catalyzes the hydrolysis of beta-1,3-glucoside bonds. When the plant is infected or under other adversity conditions, it can induces cells to synthesize large amounts of beta-1,3-GA, so beta-1,3-GA activity determination is widely used in plant pathology and stress physiology research.

beta-1,3-GA hydrolyzes laminarin, endocuts beta-1,3-glucosidic bonds to produce reducing ends, and calculates its enzymatic activity by measuring the rate of reducing sugar production.
