Asparaginase Activity Assay kit
L-asparaginase (L-ASNase, EC 3.5.1.1), is a deamidation hydrolase widely distributed in bacteria, fungi, animals and plants. Because of its unique anti-tumor properties, L-ASNase has become one of the clinical drugs widely used in the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia in children. In addition, it also helps to treat other blood or non-blood diseases, such as acute myeloid leukemia, lymphosarcoma and pancreatic cancer. At the same time, the ability to inhibit acrylamide in the food industry also makes it an important industrial enzyme.
Asparaginase catalyzes the hydrolysis of L-asparagine to produce ammonia and aspartic acid. The phenol-hypochlorite direct chromogenic method is used to determine ammonia. The generated blue indophenol is proportional to the concentration of ammonia, and there has a special absorption peak at 630 nm. The activity of asparaginase can be inferred according to the content of ammonia.
