Ascorbate Peroxidase is one of the important antioxidant enzymes for plants to remove active oxygen, and it is also one of the key enzymes for ascorbic acid metabolism. APX has a variety of isoenzymes, which are located on the membranes of chloroplasts, cytoplasm, mitochondria, peroxides and glyoxylates, as well as peroxides and thylakoid membranes. APX catalyzes the oxidation of AsA by H2O2 and is the main consumer of AsA in plants. The activity of APX directly affects the content of AsA. Under stress and relieving stress conditions, APX and AsA have a certain negative correlation.
