Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibitor Activity Aassay kit
Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE, EC 3.4.15.1, also called ACE1) is a zinc-containingpeptidyl dipeptide hydrolase with a calculated molecular mass of 120-150 kDa. ACEis widelydetected in the endothelial cell of organ tissues included lung, brain, kidney. ACEcatalyzestheformation of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, which could cause vasoconstriction, promote synthesisand release of adrenocortical hormone aldosterone. ACE inhibitors could reduce the productionofangiotensin II and increase bradykinin activity, which is helpful for the treatment of hypertension, cardiac hypertrophy, heart failure and other diseases. ACE could catalyze FAPGG to form FAP and glycylglycine. ACE inhibitors couldreducethehydrolysis of FAPGG by inhibiting ACE activity. FAPGG has a characteristic absorptionpeakat340 nm, and ACE inhibitor activity is calculated by measuring the rate of decrease in absorbanceat340nm.
