Aconitase Activity Assay kit

Aconitase (Aco) is an important iron-sulfur protease in cells, mainly found in cytoplasm and mitochondria. Aco catalyzes the reversible reaction of citric acid in the cell through the intermediate product cis-aconitic acid to form isocitric acid, which plays an important role in maintaining the smooth progress of the tricarboxylic acid cycle and the glyoxylic acid cycle. Cisaconitic acid catalyzes isocitrate to produce cisaconitic acid. Cisaconitic acid has a characteristic absorption peak at 240 nm. The enzyme activity is calculated by detecting the production rate of cisaconitic acid.
