Uricase Activity Assay kit
Uricase, also known as urate oxidase, is an oxidase involved in the purine degradation pathway, which can decompose uric acid into allantoic acid and then excrete it from the body. Uric acid is the end product of purine metabolism. Excessive accumulation will lead to the occurrence of various diseases such as ventilation, kidney disease, and cardiovascular disease. It is of great significance in the clinical detection and treatment of the disease.
Uricase catalyzes the decomposition of uric acid into allantoin, CO2 and H2O2. H2O2 oxidizes Fe2+ in potassium ferrocyanide to form Fe3+, which further interacts with 4-ammonia. Antipyrine reacts with phenol to form a red quinone compound, which has a characteristic absorption peak at 505 nm. Uric acid is reflected by measuring the absorbance at 505 nm.
