T7 RNA polymerase
T7 RNA Polymerase is a DNA-dependent RNA polymerase from T7 phage recombinantly expressed in E. coli. It synthesizes single-stranded RNA from a double-stranded DNA template. It is highly specific to the T7 promoter sequence (5'-TAATACGACTCACTATA-3'), which makes it an ideal tool for controlled and specific gene expression. It is known for its low error rate, high efficiency, and high processivity.
