Normal Sheep serum
Normal sheep serum (NSS) is used as a blocking agent in various immunoassays, such as Western Blots and immunohistochemistry, to prevent nonspecific binding of antibodies. It also serves as a control serum, provides nutrients and growth factors for certain cell cultures.
While using, dilute the blocking serum stock solution 10 or 20 times with PBS (0.01mol/L pH7.2-7.4) to make a 10% or 5% working solution, and drop it directly on the tissue slice or cell smear Incubate at 37°C for 10-30 minutes, remove the serum, do not wash, add dropwise primary antibody working solution diluted in appropriate proportions, incubate at 37°C for 1-2h or 4°C overnight.
