Lipid Peroxide (LPO) Content Assay kit
Lipid Peroxide (LPO) is a lipid with peroxy groups formed by the action of unsaturated fatty acid chains by free radicals or reactive oxygen species. Under normal circumstances, the content of LPO is extremely low, but under pathological conditions, enhanced lipid peroxidation can lead to increased LPO. Elevated LPO can cause various damages to the structure and function of cells and cell membranes, which is related to the body's immune system and aging.
LPO is heated under acidic conditions to produce malondialdehyde, and malondialdehyde is condensed with Thiobarbituric acid (TBA) to generate brown-red trimethine (3,5,5-trimethyloxazole-2, 4-diketone) has a maximum absorption peak at 535nm, and in order to exclude the influence of the absorbance value of the interfering product, its absorbance value at 600nm was subtracted.
