Glucose oxidase catalyzes the oxidation of glucose into gluconic acid and produces hydrogen peroxide; peroxidase catalyzes the oxidation of 4-aminoantipyrine-coupled phenol with hydrogen peroxide to produce colored compounds with a characteristic absorption peak at 505 nm.
