FITC

Fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) is a fluorescent dye used to label biomolecules like antibodies and proteins, enabling their detection in techniques such as flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry. It is derived from fluorescein and has an isothiocyanate group that chemically binds to amine and hydroxyl groups on proteins. FITC is known for its bright fluorescence, water solubility, and low nonspecific binding, absorbing blue light and emitting green light.
