BCIP
BCIP (5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl phosphate) is a substrate used with alkaline phosphatase (AP) enzymes to produce a visible, purple precipitate, often in combination with NBT (Nitroblue Tetrazolium) for enhanced color intensity. This chromogenic substrate system is widely used in molecular biology and immunology for colorimetric detection in applications like western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and in situ hybridization to visualize target proteins or nucleic acids.
