ABTS

ABTS is used as a substrate in various bioassays to measure peroxidase activity, antioxidant capacity, and for immunodiagnostics, particularly in ELISA. The enzyme-catalyzed reaction with ABTS generates a blue-green radical cation that can be measured spectrophotometrically, making it a sensitive and stable chromogenic substrate for detecting horse radish peroxidase (HRP).
